I appreciate the offer, but we wouldn't ask you to do that. We've got enough guys in Ottawa to arrange rides for everyone. Saying that, you must know where CaddyShack lives?

I'm driving down Friday late morning and have lots of room. I was going to stop at my daughters place in Spencerville but she'll be here for dinner tomorrow night so don't need to stop now. I'm in Kanata if anyone wants a drive down.

Had a trip to Carling Lake with a total of 44 guys on Monday and I sure as hell hope my game is better than it was there. I think it's actually starting to come around.

Just a quick refresher of the basic rules of the event:

1) the ball is played down unless course conditions warrant the use of mark, lift, clean and place. Team captains will make that call after discussing with the course. But based on the forecast, that shouldn't be a problem.

2) Concessions; only one member of a team has to say "That's good", "Pick it up" or the like. My suggestion would be to designate one from each pairing to make the call. If one says "That's good" and the other teammate says "Hold on", too bad, it was already conceded.

3) The alternate shot format is a modified format. Each player hits a ball from the tee and the team then picks the best of the two and will alternate from there until the ball is holed or a concession is given.

4) Indexes were determined as followed:

- for the team format: both indexes were added together, divided by two and then 75% was taken from there. For allotted strokes .0-.4 were rounded down, .5-.9 were rounded up.
- for the singles play, handicaps will be played at 100%, but indexes were rounded the same method as above for the team format (remember, this is for fun, so getting picky about strokes is not a big concern).

5) And above all else, act like gentlemen, represent your forum with pride, and have some fun out there.

Caddyshack the easiest may be to meet at the Loblaws in the Centrum at around 10:30 and that would get us there in lots of time to hit some balls and have lunch before our 2:30 tee times.

Gentlemen, I have good news. We have an 18th. With that being said, does your generous offer of helping to cover my expenses still stand? After much begging and pleading I am now officially allowed to go, but only under those circumstances. But I also said I just had to see Sakuraba's stache!!!!

So if you lads are willing to have me and to help me out, I would be tremendously happy to join you guys down there.

Sweet guys, thanks. It's basically the accomodations and the golf that is my concern. I'm sure we can work something out by Saturday. I really appreciate it.
