Falling satellite will pass over Ottawa at 6:06 p.m. THIS evening

The falling U.S. spy satellite is still on course for a visible pass over Ottawa at 6:06 p.m. Wednesday evening - if a navy missile doesn't shoot it down first.
The U.S. Navy wants to shoot down the non-functioning satellite over the Pacific some time in a two-week period that begins this evening, meaning it's possible there will be nothing left but debris by the time the satellite is due to pass over Canada.

That's odd. We went out to the nearby field at 6:00 and stayed until 6:20. We saw nothing.
We figured they must have already shot it down, but as it turns out they shot it down over Hawaii at 7:30pm pacific time, 10:30 local.

forget the satellite, the lunar eclipse last night was really spectacular. started around 8:45pm, peaked at about 10:10pm. What I found interesting was that the moon was incredibly bright at 8pm & again around 11:30.

I am in Chicago and it was clear as anything here. I got to watch the eclipse from the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building. Pretty cool.
