Grey Hawk AGM
We had our AGM today....
New building, this years version... as last years version was over budget so it got cancelled.
Anyway new facility is 16000 sq ft +- , spending over 5 million, similar to Le maitre and fountainbleau, log and stone. Quite impressive actually!! they have an extremely optimistic construction schedule, completion by May 09.
Big news!!!! fees for Grey hawk dropping membership fees from 12.5k to 8000!! Fees for Le Maitre dropping from 27 K to 16K. No new acquisitions for club link this year.
Members will get to keep there 12.5 balance if they want to move to another club. And for those that joined last year and have not paid full membership, people on payment plan, they will be reimbursed on the remaining payments. If you paid up front... too bad so sad! They are dropping fees to get 200 new members at GH.
So Grey Hawk will be a construction zone all year, existing club house being torn down in April and all facilities being squashed into the banquet facility for the year... maybe more if the permits take the usual 4 months + with environment ect.
So there you have it... Good News Bad News....

Actually, they will be talking to those who paid up front, everything is negotiable.
And for those who may want to join, if you are referred by a GH member before the end of April, I'm pretty sure it's until then, you can get in for $6500.It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Sounds like a great deal. Too bad it's such a far drive for me.

Do you path both pst and gst in Ontario on annual dues?

Just GST. There's QST on the QGA fees.

So it's in the neighbourhood of 4000$ a year then? Outside of paying your initiation.

3305.57 for the annual dues, taxes, QGA fees, hole-in-one insurance, prize and trophy fees. 560 + tx and tip on the F&B. The F&B goes pretty quickly. You could say it's around 4K.
I don't count the F&B as 2 beer/round over my 50 rounds would cover that without the meals at men's nights, snacks, etc.
So for my 3300, I played about 60 Clublink rounds last year, so for me that works out to about $55/round which included rounds at Eagle Creek, Board of Trade in Toronto, Le Maitre and Glencairn in the Toronto area. And the more you play, the cheaper those rounds get!It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.
