New England Patriots
New England Patriots are still making the news.
NEW ORLEANS - A lawsuit filed Friday by a former St. Louis Rams player and others seeks millions of dollars in damages from the alleged taping of Rams practices by the New England Patriots before the 2002 Super Bowl.
The Patriots won the game 20-17 in the Superdome.
The US$100-million suit, filed on behalf of former Rams player Willie Gary in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, names the Patriots, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.
The Patriots have yet to comment.
Attorney Michael Levy said that to date, the NFL's initial proposals are not sufficient protection for Walsh, who is said to have taped the St. Louis Rams' walkthrough practice the day before they played the Patriots in the 2002 Super Bowl. The Patriots won. 20-17.

It is funny, but I'm pretty sure they'll win the lawsuit. The Pats staffer still has the tapes, doesn't get more concrete then that.

Ya, but he has to prove that it somehow affected the outcome of the game.

If they taped the walk through, which is basically going through your game plan, then the judge in this case could easily lean towards the Rams side.

and baseball...
So when is some fan or player gonna sue baseball for fraudulent misrepresentation?
If your team lost out to a team full of 'roiders (ex. the Yankees) in any kind of a playoff race over the last 10 years, and your players have been virtually clean, sue, sue, sue I say. Even if you don't like that most games were won by juicers, take 'em to court..
Especially because you know the league probably also turned a blind eye to a few tests over the years, or chose not to test problem players.
The right suit and settlement, and somebody could wind up owning the whole freakin' league.
