make sure you turn off the auto update your your phone will be bricked!

1. It's a one-way street. You cannot downgrade the firmware back to 1.0.2, not even using the alt-Restore trick that lets you pick an ipsw file to restore from.

2. The new firmware is locked down tighter than a WWE Half Nelson. If you somehow managed to upgrade while keeping your iPhone apps intact -- I have yet to hear a confirmation of this happening, and I kinda doubt it can happen -- congratulations. Everyone else is out of luck. Don't expect a jailbreak anytime soon.

You could use Jailbreak, then have some fun with it... of course no garuntees no warranties w/ hacks.

I would recommend running it through your own server though (for the same reasons listed by the author)

Also, there is an SDK on the way, so you'll see a lot of fun stuff popping up over the next year.

Apple Store is down, and the rumours are flying that they're going to introduce a 16gb model today (about time).

Also, Rogers/Fido came out with Unlimited Mobile Browsing plans for $7, but they've cut off the route for people who snuck onto their network with a nice unlocked iPhone, or other unlocked phone, by limiting it to Rogers branded devices.

Who doesn't love Rogers?

The SDK was unveiled last week, and while I'm not quite smart enough to get everything that they had talked about, looked pretty promising. Apple teamed up with one of the largest VC firms to create iFund, which should help not-so-wealthy developers get a jump into the game.

Won't really see anything until June, but most people here will still be shoveling out from Saturday until then anyway.
