All-Star additions
So, the NHL announced some additions to the All-Star lineup, to replace injured players. Among the additions was Scott Niedermayer. Really? The guy who sat out for 3 months of the season. Ya, he's a great player, but he's played 17 games. Give it to someone who's earned it this year. There are much more deserving players all over the league.

He was added for many reasons - Stanley Cup Champion Again - MVP in the Playoffs - A vice nice player to watch during his many years in the League - This is the NHL's way of saying thank you to a player that gave everything he had to make the League better and the Game of Hockey Better -
I say - WAY TO GO NHL - Classy Move and a nice way to say goodbye to a Classy Hockey Player - His Last All-Star Game

it's an all star game though...it's supposed to be based on this year. last year is irrelevant. And there are lots of nice players in the league, who might otherwise never get the chance to play in an all-star game. Why not pick an unsung hero type player? A real fan favourite? A Rory Fitzpatrck, even.

i say it is rediculous, he did not play enough gameds plain and simple, it is not the presidents pick or something. they used to have that, a way to bring a vetern to the game who could not get there another way, but for this player, did not desertve it.
what about rafalski? more deserving easlily, or even zubov

I'm with you Jon - there is no denying what Scotty has done in the past, but that was in the past. It is an insult to every other D-man in the league that has played the full season to have Scotty at this year's All Star Game

Well they likely wanted to ask Darcy "$7 Mil/Season" Tucker but he is still out in the injury list isn't he?
Honestly guys, does it really matter if he plays? It is a no hitting shoot and score game. How many of you will actually watch the game anyways?
I am glad they have the Young Stars Game now, at least during that one you can see the future stars of the NHL.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Well both of are are wrong, although I was closer. His salary is listed at $5,750,000 per season from now until the end of 2011.
Which IMO is about $5,000,000 to muchMy opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Not that it matters much, but anyone else think that Nash got hosed in the MVP voting, a la Nolan in 1997?
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.
