    putter models with different weights/lengths

Does only the scotty cameron "mallet" putters come in different length and weights? Do their blade putters come in different lengths with different putter head weights?

everything comes in dif lengths. If the length is dif then the head weight is dif i guess its to keep the swing weight the same. I personally think its to keep people from altering the clubs and a gimmick to just sell more SCs

Newport 2 comes in 33/350 for sure, Newport Detour 2 and 2.5 come in 33/350. 34/340 and 35/330 length and weight. Pretty sure the red x series had the 3 lengths too, but don't quote me on that.

Don't know if I agree that it is a "gimmick" to sell mor putters...having cut a 35" putter down to 33", it really does feel whippy and light. Having a couple of heavier heads is nicer for the vertically challenged.

All the mallets can be custom ordered length and weight. The rest is hit and miss (and I might be missing a couple too)

Circa 2007 model: Asian spec Circa 6 in 350g
Circa 2006 model: Asian spec Circa 3 in 350g
American Classic III: Heavy flange model is 350g
Studio Style: Newport II in 340g and 350g
Studio Stainless: Newport II in 340g and 350g
I also seem to think there was a Newport Beach in 340g, but I can't remember for sure.
Studio Design: Asian Spec 3.5 in 340g
Pro Platinum: Mil Spec in 320g, 340g, 350g
Pro Platinum: Asian Spec Del Mar 3.5 in 340g
AOP Oil Can Newport: There is a 500 putter run in 350g. A member of this board has one and it is one of the sweetest putters you'll ever see. They run about $1000 in great shape.
Classic Gun Blue Newport: I think a 400 putter run in 350g.

you have to admit... people are alot more hesitant to cut a scotty.... i'm sure its contributed to higher sales. I think its genius, I love people who know how to max their revs

I think the putter head weight should be different with different lengths. I usually like my putters around 33" to 32.5" and do notice a difference in feel when I cut down a putter. I was on the Scotty Cameron site and notice that the mallet putters come in different lengths/weights...but for the blade style putters, it only mentioned one length(35") and one weights(330g). It seems like only some models offer this...kind of funny why its not incorporated in the full line of putters.

if it made that much of a dif they would do it to all putters... it is starting to sound more like a gimmick!

Think of it as a custom fitting option, it's never a bad thing to have more options.

I agree with spackler. This is not a gimick, it's a fitting option. You are free to cut a shaft without adjusting the weight. Nothing is stopping you.
Life dinnae come wit gimmies so yuv got nae chance o' gitt'n any from me.
