    Golf Digest Subscriptions

Apparently GOLF DIGEST does not know that our Canadian Loonie is worth more than the US Buck.

I recently got my notice in the mail to renew my subscription. $38.46/year, a savings of 46% off the cover price.

So I go online to renew and find out that US subscribers can get one year for $14.97, or TWO YEARS for $27.94.

Now that is quite a big difference. I realize postage costs could be a big more to mail to Canada. However they still have to pay postage to mail out magazines in the states. So is there $23.49 difference in postage rates to send 12 magazines to Canada?

I contacted Golf Digest and let them know how I felt. Now it likely will not do me any good but at least I vented!

I refuse to renew when they are charging that much more for a Canadian subscription. I'll buy it monthly at WalMart as they are selling the magazines at the marked US prices now.

Ok that is my rant for the day! What can I say, I am bored and can not go golfing

Good for you, prices will fall in line eventually, since the greenback isn't going to be recovering anytime soon, if ever. These guys and many others need to react more quickly to currency fluctuations.
The only problem I can see with your plan is buying the magazine at WalMart. This means you actually have to go to Walmart, which in itself is completely nauseating.

Not a problem dealing with Walmart, my daughters are there about 4 times a week
In the end if might cost about $10 for the year to buy at Walmart. But to me it is the principal. There is no way there should be that much difference in the prices from USA to Canada.
Golf Digest must think we are a bunch of hicks up here. WRONG.

I just got my golf magazine notice today, almost afraid to open it. I think if it's crazy, I'll call too.

It really has nothing to do with Walmart.

It is the fact that Golf Digest wants to ripoff their Canadian subscribers by charging far more than they are in the USA.

Don't the GD renewals always come with a buy one, get one free type offer? Find someone else to go halfsies and you get a subscription for $20.
