Do you think that you'll mysteriously find your way into the top 10?

I just had to add Jean Belliveau to that list. The man was simply too good and too classy not to be considered.

I agree with Mike, take Crosby off as he hasn't been around long enough to be calle one of the greatest ever. Jean Beliveau was very classy hockey and a very solid player.

Pretty bad list if you ask me. Way to many current players, especially in the 11-20 part of the list.

    Let's see, off the top of my head, as well as Beliveau being added;

    Gordie Howe should be higher
Orr should be second as he revolutionized his position
No way is Crosby in the top 20, even 30 - hasn't playd enough yet
    Tretiak isn't included
Terry Sawchuck absolutely was SOOO much better than Hextall for example that it isn't even funny.
    Bossy - #28? What a joke!

Note: I realize some of what I included above are not necessarily Top 10, they are certainly better than a lot of the listed Top 33.

It's a pretty bogus list IMO.

Now, IMO the REAL top-10 (so far)...

    In no particular order...

    - Wayne Gretzky
    - Mario Lemieux
    - Mark Messier
    - Vladislav Tretiak
    - Martin Brodeur
    - Patrick Roy
    - Gordie Howe
    - Maurice Richard
    - Bobby Orr
    - Nicklas Lidstrom

I know that there are definitely some notable names that are left off my list, and that 10 is a pretty restrictive number especially over thousands of players, and 100+ years, but any true list also needs to include goaltenders and defencemen, IMO. They are as much a part of the game, and their team's ability to win championships as any player who racks up offensive points. It is after all, a TEAM game.

Doug Harvey is a no doubt top 10 player of all time. They changed the game's rules because of him.

I think the top 10 is easy after that you can move some rankings around but these guys on any Team would be amazing.

Tretiak - every big game - he could not win - 72 Lost, 80 Lost(pulled) plus more look at the records - Played one game in Montreal that made him a star in Canada and that was a tie.

No team can really succeed without a selfless defensive genius, who never - ever - stops playing and never - ever - leaves his man. That man is Bob Gainey. He needs to be on this team. The Russians correctly thought of him as the best two-way player in the world.

I'll give you my top two lines of all time:

    Line 1:

Forwards: Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe
    Defence: Bobby Orr, Ray Bourque
    Goalie: Patrick Roy

    Line 2:

Forwards: Mark Messier, Maurice Richard, Bobby Hull/Mike Bossy
    Defence: Doug Harvey, Paul Coffey
Goalie: Terry Sawchuk (But one day Brodeur will be here or on line 1)
