What would you do if you were a BILLIONARE? (must be golf related)

This prince bought a plane and is going to pimp it... waste of 500mil if you ask me but its his money and he has enough to spare

    http://www.thestar.com/News/World/article/275740

What would YOU do if you had 20bil. Obviously you don't have to spend it all on golf but tell me how you would spend... Ohhh lets say 500mil on golf.

Before I answer, anyone know how much agusta national is worth?? How about the st. andrews?

I'd spend 300 mil on a pimpin 747 and live in it as I travelled the world playing the best courses with the change. Why bother owning a course?

Let's put it this way, $20B probably might get you one of them. The value of the brand is worth much more than the land.

I'd just by time on Netjets and fly all over the place golfing.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Buy a pimping A380 and set up a driving range in it. Then fly around the world to play golf, all the while practicing my game in mid air.

    Booyah.

if i remember correctly, one of the British Open rotation courses is for sale. Turnberry along with the other course and the 220ish room hotel are for sale for a measily 146 million. That would be a nice purchase.

I really like this idea! I think I would buy the site and just ban everyone! It would just be me posting all the time. Oh the arguments me and I would have.................

Buying a course would be too much work, just travel and buy a huge block of tee times so that you can have the course to yourself. I would also pay them to remove trees and fill in water hazards while I was playing, as the situation dictated.

I would get a nice big bus, and take three of my friends on a North American tour of the best golf courses in style. A plane might be quicker, but there are a lot of golf courses where a really big plane can't land.

    Just buy one of these:
    http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/c-17.htm

You could build a house in there, bring a bus and have a driving range! A real bargin at only $202 million!

Build an exceptional course here---complete with state of the art indoor winter practice facilities and all the extras---oh yes--it would be a "Private Ottawa Golf Forum Members Only" This way you would not need the bus or the plane---oh and top notch day care for all your young-uns. How am I doing so far? 1000.00 each week for the wives that don't golf and private lessons so no one shoots over 85
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

    Love that movie

I think I would also buy clublink and pretend to show interest in local courses just to get the rumour mill going, great advertising!

    mmm, i like this thread...

fist an formost i would by a Piper Seneca V to travel North America playing golf. (my dream plane), and a Bell 430 Chopper to fly to my own private courses. who needs a big jet to fly over seas to play. i would just fly first class.

i would also by myself a golf course or 2. something along the lines of a Hillsdale outside of montreal for my first. and i would by Loch March here. and overhaul it. the best carts, the nicest fiarways youve ever played on, best greens this side of the boarder, and make it the best laid out course youve ever seen. then i would get the PGA to host an event there once a year called the Perl Invitational.

the courses would have a full 500 yard long indoor driving range, with built in short game area. with an indoor bar.

and Ottawa Golf members would get to use the facilities for free.

With the pop gun like drives I'm hitting lately, a mere 200 yd range would be more than enough for me.

Do you see it in the classifieds yet???? Although if this range was 200 yds out with 100 yds to the right it might work for me.

I would create a golf tournament which would take place in a different part of the world each year. It would always be in a part of the world that’s in a really bad way for whatever reason (civil war, plague, natural disasters, etc.), thus bringing western attention to the problem.

Because it would be played on hastily constructed courses in not-so-desirable locales, the prize money would be huge (like 50 mil for the winner, 1 mil going to everyone who makes the cut…)

Imagine seeing the best golfers teeing it up in a temporarily secured no-man’s-land between two warring factions in some war-plagued third-world country, or playing through a refugee camp, or in the aftermath of some natural disaster.
Sucking at golf is it's own reward.

I would build a resort with 54 hole golf course. You wouldn't be allowed to just play 9 holes or 18 holes. You would have to play all 54 holes. There would only one tee time. Everyone tees off at 7am, 54 groups all starting at a dif hole. SHOTGUN!
