Some teams make bad signings. You should look up who their agents are too.

What happened to Wayne Gretzky? I though he had signed a 99 year $99 million personal services contract at one point?
Wouldn't Spezza and Heatly be above the $50 million mark with their recent signings?

Looking at the list, the ones that I think 'earned' it the most are Joe Sakic and Nicklas Lidstrom. Lidstrom might go down as the second best defenseman of all time next to Bobby Orr.

hard to believe someone would pay Tkachuk that much. Can you say overrated?

Judging by that list, I'd have to say Roy and Messier are the bargains of the bunch listed. But like Bob, I agree that pro athletes are way overpaid to "play" a sport. Granted I would kill to be in their place, I don't hold any animosity against them, except when they whine and hold out for more money.

I don't understand when people say players make to much money. You do realize that if these players didn't make this much money all the money would go to the owners. I'm sure there would be some savings passed on to the fans but if we are willing to pay these crazy prices now I'm sure the owners would figure it out and try to get as much of that money back into their pockets.

Not bad pocket change................
However, look at some of the other sports..........A-Rod opted out of his $252 million 10 yr contract with Yankees and his Agent is shopping him around for a $350 million contract..................."So many moving parts.
