He's right Bob, every penny given to charity should be appreciated and folks should be impressed by a $100 donation or a $5 milllion donation even if you hate the person who donated it.

Giving that amount of money way for those people does not make a dent in their budgets. Unless you guys are Lindros financial advisory, you have no idea the impact it make on his budget. What’s the difference between $40M and $35M? It doesn’t make a difference to me. Give me $35M and will give half away to charity. Heck I’ll keep $5M and give the rest away.

What Redden does for local and handicapped kids is more impressive in my opinion.

My family and me donate time every year for the breast cancer foundation and we raised 35 thousand dollars this October during a fashion show at the casino. The preparations last 4 mounts. Ottawa hospital doctors and nurses also donated their time for the cause. Now that is impressive. I think it’s worth more then 1.4% of my income. Don’t you? Regular people donating time to raise money for a cause they believe in. Not some ultra reach spoiled kid, throwing money away to redeem himself.

In conclusion I’m entitled to my opinion and so are you so let’s just drop it. This is going nowhere.

I don't care if you like him. I'm trying to prove that your statement that his donation was "not impressive" is ridiculous. I guess I made my point.

Gee I hate to say this, but I think someone is holding a sour grapes grudge simply because Eric snubbed an NHL team from Quebec.

If that is the reason, GET OVER IT PAL. IT'S HISTORY.

Basing a your decision on whether Lindros gets into the HHOF due to your personal reasons is ridiculous. Base it on his stats, etc. Not a personal grudge.

Hey I do not like the Maple Leafs but I sure as hell think Sundin should be in the HHOF after he retires.

By the way, when he made that donation he refused to say the amount. Someone else had to do that. Does that sound like an arrogant showboat speaking?

    what was the question again?

Should Eric Lindros be in the Hockey Hall of Fame or should he give to charities?

Exactly, I stated that once before as well.

    Thank’s Bob, that’s exactly what I’m saying.

The score was 3-1 not 4-1. Although they lost I was proud of their play. It was a great Northeast battle against the second best team in the league. Not too shabby for a team that expert’s estimated in the bottom half of the standings. They sit 4th in the East. Would be 3rd if Philly did not get positioning because they lead the Atlantic division.

What the hell do you mean 2nd best team in the league??????? Ottawa is clearly the best team. Their A effort beats anyone else's A effort.

I think everyone should take a step back and realize that Lindros is not the first guy in sports history to refuse to play for the team that drafted him. John Elway ring a bell? Nobody questions his character...I agree Lindros is a polarizing figure, but to discount a) his career stats b) his impact on hockey and c) to totally dismiss his donation as a "scam" to make people like him...that's bush league.

He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

I think Detroit has a more balanced team. Detroit #1, Ottawa #2.

Yes, nice game, both goalies played terrific !!

    However:

Note to 42 Bus Loads of Habs fans,

Probably not a wise thing to start singing O'La..O'La,O'La,O'la with a 1-0 lead and just over 5 minutes to play against the hottest team in the NHL........

Right! It made me laugh when I heard a louder cheer from the Habs fans. They come in big numbers in Ottawa.
