    Sens scare me

Man, I am afraid of the extremely fagile confidence level of the Sens, last night ahead 5-0 and they almost blow it. This is the 3rd time I have seen them do this type of collapse going back to last year and I wonder what the hell a coach could do to stop this downward spiral when it is happening. I know the talent was there to bring Atlanta back but the end result is a crack in the armour. I just hope that this is just a reflection of the time off they had and that playing regularly will make everything all better.

don't sweat it. it was a good lesson and hopefully Chris neil has learned something as well. Luc, seriously, this team is 10-1 and tops in the NHL.

    They are 10-1.

No team is going to play their best hockey for 60 minutes, every game. They had a lapse. Kovalchuk is among the best players on the planet.

I agree. A couple of years ago, even last year prior to Christmas, they might have done the all-out collapse and lost last night. But I just don't see that happening anymore with this team - mainly due to the experience they've gained through the playoffs last year... all that, and I don't think Paddock is the type of coach that will let them forget it - ever.

My son is going with the Sens to New Jersey for their game latter this month. Do you want him to talk to them about fragility Luc?

Fanatical fans in general kill me.....

If their team has one bad period the sky is falling.... if they have more than a bad period (heaven forbid it should be an entire game) then thats it, they have tanked and the entire season is in doubt

We could have done worse last night.... we could have lost but they showed that they can play through adversity and a bit of pressure

The sens have played 3 games in the last 2 weeks.. Had a nice 5-0 lead going into the third wouldn't you go into relaxation mode too? No worries here.

I agree completely, no worries at all.... but the NHL schedule still has me baffled, 6 games in 10 days now

Interesting. I would have said the exact opposite. Last night didn't show a fragile confidence. It showed OVER confidence, which to me, is not a bad thing to have.

It was Detroit a few years back. Something ridiculous. I think they might have hit 60 wins (maybe even more)

I know in the mid 70's the Habs had a 10 loss season, I don't think that has been beaten, but I am too lazy to look it up for you on the NHL site

You're both right. Detroit set a new record for wins, but I don't think they matched the season point total record. As far as I know, the Montreal team from the 70s that Bob makes mention of holds that record with 132 pts.

Pretty sure that record is the Habs' from the late 70s. There was one season they only lost 8 games.

I wasn't sleeping, nor on a golf course today. I just couldn't care less about something like this during the regular season. I found it quite funny. I was watching some shows we PVRed from earlier in the week. I saw Patrick Eaves' interview during the second intermission when they mentioned the Thrashers only had 5 or 6 shots up to that point. Imagine my surprise when I tuned in later and saw the score 5-3 then saw Kovalchuk score his third goal. Was thinking this could be an interesting finish. But Alfie saved the day with an empty netter.

It's a long regular season, a win is a win regardless. But I wouldn't have wanted to be at practice today though.

HAHAHA...now THAT'S a Sens fan! I'd be interested to know how many goals Alfredsson has into empty nets. It seems like it's always him that pots it.

You know how can avoid these kinds of "thrillers"? Keep Gerber in net!
