What? Nobody break 60?
When applying the Rules, you follow them line by line. You don't read between them.

85 at Mont Pellier---86 Renfrew twice and 89 at Whitetail. I got all excited at Mont pellier---thought I had a 78------------then I realized I forgot to add the last hole--was the worst hole of the day
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

I started the year as a 24 struggling to break 100 consistently, I have now acheived mid 80's reliably (except when I change clubs to often), several 83;s and one 80, it is coming....

I have broken 70 a few times at my home track and a few times in Provincial tournament play. A few years back I was the low quailifier in the Manitoba Amatuer (before my daughter was born) and have only played in the Amateur one time since then. I don't like the competetion of Provincial play any longer to be honest as I do not feel I dedicate the time it requires to really compete at that level.
This year was probably my best scoring round and one fine Saturday in July I played 36, fired 68 in the morning and 65 in the afternoon. In the 36 holes I played, I missed 2 greens all day, no 3 putts and in the round I shot 68 only 1 birdie on the par 5's. All total I had 12 sub par rounds this year with 6 being in the 60's.
It's funny, many people I play with, and I do enjoy playing with all levels of golfers, always say how they would like to break 90 or 80 or 70, so in my opinion its all relative to your level of skill to get over that next hump. I think everyone of every skill level, especially as an ametuer finds themselves making tremendous mental mistakes as they approach a new personal best for themselves. Being able to think positively with 2 or 3 holes left to play when you are around or below your personal best is the hardest thing to do. So often bad swing thoughts creep in and instead of telling yourself to hit the shot you know you can, one starts to think of where not to hit the ball, overcoming that IMHO is the biggest key to breaking 80 or 70, or so it has been my experience at least.I golf therfore I swear

63 at Carleton Golf & YC in the late 1980's.
64 at Greensmere in 2003, both 8 under par.
Have had a couple of 30's, both on front nines. Choked my guts out on the first on the back 9 for 69 and could not finish the other.
My next goal is to shoot my age, currently 62, but I may have to wait a year or two, or three, or four... to do this.

Wow.. I am not even sure what my personal best score is. I know that I have broke 80though, and never really put two solid nines together to even scare the 60's. I remember a couple 74's when I use to play more. At Lomabrd Glen.
My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

Just remember, it should only get easier to do this.
When I started to play seriously again after the kid induced hiatus my goal was to shoot my age for 9 holes before I turned forty. Managed to do that when I was 38 but now shooting my age for nine (41) is starting to suck. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
