Simulator ball flight
Please enlighten me..
Saw a newer post here, a fellow is trading his irons as he finds the ball flight too high based on a simulator.
How accurate are they?
Any outside factors to consider? ie ball type, type of sim (I think there are more than one type)
Or is it simply a good "relative" indicator as to ball flight from set to set
thanks

Hey...I have seen how he hits the ball in the sims...and its not really how the ball goes on the screen as to how high up in the screen he was hitting his irons. I personaly dont think that they are the greatest way to tell your proper ball flight.

It depends on what simulator you are talking about.
Only a system which MEASURES the speed, spin, and launch angle can produce an accurate picture. We're talking things like TrackMan and Zelocity and they cost a lot of money.
The simulators at Golftown, Golf-O-Max, etc. are really only accurate for ball speed. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!
