    The Falcon

If you haven't played this great course yet, I recommend you play it before the season is out.

Just gorgeous... and the best greens I have seen anywhere in the region of Montreal. Two thumbs up!

Golfers who enjoy the modern style of golf course design will enjoy this golf course. While it is certainly contrived, the advantage it has is the beautiful piece of wooded property through which the holes were constructed. Most holes on the upper level are bordered by huge trees and the greens are large, for the most part reasonably contoured, and smooth.

However, being a lover of traditional golf course architecture, I want to be able to stand on the tee of a par 4 or 5 and see where my ball is going to land, if hit straight, rather than have it disappear over a mound and find that it has rolled into a bunker or into the rough because of the bull dozed contour of the fairway that is not visible from the tee. Just too many blind shots.

While the course is difficult and visually appealing, the consensus on our bus trip was that while it's a great course to play once, it's not one that would entice us to go back several times. In May, when we played, the fairways were severly damaged by fungus, but I am sure that they are in excellent shape, now.

Favourite Semi-Private or Public Courses I like. Not in order of preference.

    Eagle Creek GC
Outaouais GC (the new nine is a fantastic traditional design)
    Brockville Country Club
    Hawkesbury Golf Club
Oaks of Cobden(except for two stupid holes)
    Renfrew Golf Club
    Upper Canada Golf Course
    Deep River Golf Club
    Mont Cascades(layout and view-not conditioning)
    Loch March
    Mississippi GC
    Montebello GC
Dragonfly GC (the back nine is most enjoyable)
    * There are obviously many courses that I have not played that may be more enjoyable than those listed above.

Favourite Private courses: Accessible with a member or in various tournaments.

Cataraqui GC (Toughest 6400 yards in the region)
    Rideau View GC
    Royal Ottawa GC
    Rivermead GC

Ok, I've played all those public courses, except Outaouis, and I have to agree.
