Winter
Winter is fast approaching (not all bad 'cause of skiing, hockey, etc.) and I didn't get out to practice/play as much as I anticipated due to work, etc. I did improve considerably this summer and don't want to lose all that I have gained over the winter.
Just wondering what, if anything, do the members of OG do during the winter months to practice? My wife is starting to beat me regularily and the male ego is bruised.
Cheers
Ty

Keep on swinging!!
Just keep on swinging indoors at:
1) Golf simulators - Golf-O-Max, OC Discount Golf, etc.
2) Winter Golf School - Falcon Ridge, OAC, etc.
3) Indoor Ranges - Thunderbird, Coliseum
4) Living Room Floor - putting practice on the carpet!Golf is a game invented by the same people who think music comes out of bagpipes.

OMG there's at least 2.5 months of outdoor golf left!
Get back out there. Don't call it a season yet! September at least is full of 15 - 20 degree days, perfect for golf, and conditions are as good as summer.

once the leaves fall, keep your eye on the ball...nothing more frustrating then losing a ball in the fairway (except maybe trickling the ball 3 feet off the tee).
Ottawa Athletics Club (mentioned above) has good winter training/practice.

I wasn't suggesting that I was putting the clubs away yet!!! Being an engineer, I tend to plan substantially before proceeding.
Just wanted to get some insight.

I agree with Dan stick in there Sept/Oct. can be great months for golf. I got spoiled in BC where you could golf year round. I just don't want to think of the season ending yet. Indoor golf is just not the same.

We are losing the gist of this thread.
The question was "what do you do during the winter months to practice" and not what are you doing now for winter practice.

Take a month off from golf completely
1) no indoor
2) no swing training at home in the mirror in your underwear.
3) No golf channel academy.
Then spend 2 months working on your body.
1) Getting fitter. Lift weights, Cardio
2) Go get a yoga dvd and increase your flexibility. Or go to a class if you can stand the ribbing
Then pick up your club and work on your chipping and putting. Start full swing training in January or Feb sometime. If you can do this over the winter you'll have you're best golf year ever next summer.

Great tips Andru. Thanks.
I do workout religiously and have for the past 20 years. I have attended a Bikram yoga class. Good workout and hot chicks.
Thanks, again.

... and let's not forget the annual pilgrimage to Myrtle Beach, Florida, Arizona, etc.
I golf till the snow is on the ground, usually mid/late November. So if I take a month off, then spend 2 months "working on my body", and then pick up my clubs, we could be talking no golf until March?
I would need to go through a 12-step program before that was going to happen!Golf is a game invented by the same people who think music comes out of bagpipes.

It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

winter????
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Taboo on Ty.......
Just keep swinging one way or another. Don' let your swing muscles get tight, or your swing thoughts gets lost.
Being a true golf pig, I dont do anything different in the winter than I do in the summer. I play around 100 rounds a year outdoors, I then play another 25 rounds indoors at Golf-O-Max, and then it's march again and we're outside.
Keep the swing going through the winter, with whatever means you can. Plenty of places indoors to swing a club.I've spent most of my life golfing .... the rest I've just wasted"
