GolfTown East update

Looks like things are starting to happen....

Just to update:
-Late november, early december opening
-Pingman will be there as the onsite CPGA pro
-the store is bigger. it'll be one of the largest sales floors in the company
-new fixtures, allowing much more product on the floor. Smaller storage, smaller backrooms and offices. New Golf Town model i guess.
-management has been hired, consisting of managers from Kanata GT and other key staff from Kanata GT
-started hiring hourly staff, could still be looking for other golf experienced staff
-still looking for quality female staff to work areas such as clothing, shoes and customer service

Other points of interest:
-Golf Town DEMO day in Kanata will be the first Saturday in November. Get there early!

- Mugshots of Johnston and St. Michael have been posted in the staff rooms.
- Kiddie height urinal installed in bathroom for Jarred
- MGD staff bag section waiting for Hoolio.

The new model sounds more efficient!! Smaller storage and more product on the floor is the way to go. Back in the spring I went into Kanata Golftown and wanted to purchase a pair of Rivieria black shorts. Problem was they did not have my size on the floor. The sales girl went to the back for about 10 minutes and came back frustrated.........She told me that she knew the shorts in my size were there, but it was going to take her at least an hour to go through all the boxes. I did not have time to wait an hour. She of course offered to order them in from another store as an alternative, but considering the outside temps were starting to hit 30 C plus, I declined as I was not going to wait 3 days or more. So I settled on a good pair of Dockers shorts in my size, but would have preferred the Rivieria.........

from what i hear they are still setting up the store, and interviewing full time people first. then it will be us part timers

was by there tonight. The sign outside was being installed and the store was full of merchandise and looked pretty much ready to go (at least from my view in the parking lot). There is a grand opening of the mall this weekend, though I don't know if its part of that. There were about 10 or so stores open there already, with quite a few more to go.
