recommended men's set for a beginner
I'm looking to purchase a decent set for a friend who started playing golf. His budget is between $300-$500.
Any recommendations? Any good brands that sell 1/2 sets?
Thankstpak

new set
You can get the Top Flite XL 2000 for about $499. They are a great set of irons and verry forgiving.
Hope it helped

why not look for a used set?
there are lots available on this site or at a few stores around town. You'll get a better set for less $. I've got a set of Taylor Made Burner Oversize irons for sale. email me @ if you are interested in having a look (I have pics I can email).
