"Hoe Garden" that's great.
Also if you like the Garden of Hoe you will love Blanche de Chambly. Amazing white beer, very distinct taste which i find very refreshing.
Another fave of mine is Innis and Gunn. It's aged in whisky barrels so it imparts a nice tone into the brew. Strong too at 5.7% i do believe.

My two favourites are:
Old Speckled Hen
Innis and Gunn
Both worth a try if you have not had them before.

Stella is my favorite. I actually just learned this recently after doing the same deal that Jeffc talked about above. You can try single beer at the LCBO. A sample 6 pack, if you will..
What are the top Czech beers? Since they are suppose to be "the best"My name is Paul. And I'm a golfaholic.

If you like it dark, make sure you try the McEwan's Scotch Ale: it's dark, thick, a bit sweet and so heavy that it's like a meal... strange enough, I like my McEwan's at room temperature. Newcastle is pretty good too but a lot lighter.

hard to find, but San Miguel from the Philippines is really nice. Plus it comes in a stubby!

The Belgian beers are the "best" imho, & if something as subjective as taste can be judged that way: they invented beer.
Heiniken is a staple of my diet, but I'll drink just about anything.
For an unusual treat I recommend gueuze lambic. It is a sour beer along the lines of hoegarden. Harder to find, has a cork in the bottle
Cheers!Andrew

If you enjoy a dark beer try NewCastle Brown Ale. And the LCBO is definetly the place to mix and match.

Kronenbourg 1664 is a good beer too. dark blue tallboy cans at the LCBO.
Best thing to do is go to LCBO, grab one of their 8 pack holders and start at the top and try all of their individual cans. After that, you can narrow down what you liked.

Also, don't limit yourself to imports. There are some damn good micro-brews coming out of Canada...particularly from BC and Alberta. Unfortunately, I don't know how much of it you can get in Ontario. If you can find it, try some stuff from Big Rock Brewery, Granville Island, Phillips Brewery. Some really good stuff.

ok. Just had my first beer in Prague today. Krusovice dark. Very nice for a dark beer, not too heavy. 1 down about 50 or so to go!
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Tried Kingfisher last night for the first time, (I'm a Stella guy) and it was awesome!!! Tried Hoegaarden too, didn't like it. Recently tried Dos XX amber, it was okay but I'm not a fan of the ambers.
