Hello from the Old Man
Just joined a few days ago and find this site interesting, helpfull and at times brings me a smile .I am from the Ottawa Valley area (Ontario ) and just golf for the fun of it but have been known to play that last hole for the bubbly pop.
To the originators of this site thanks .(maybe add spell check for me. LOL )

Welcome Old Man. We have a few of you on the site.
On the spell check front, if you use Firefox 2.0 as your browser it has real-time spell checking built in!
A certain short moderator who shall remain nameless should also switch to Firefox 2.0 BTW.Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Hey Old man and welcome!
Would your initials happen to be JH?You can never golf too much. What was that dear? Oh okay. Maybe you can.

Hey! Welcome to the site Old Man.... you have indeed found a wonderful place to pickup knowledge and an occasional smile!
As for the spell checker, why worry about it.... if they can't understand they will ask you to repeat it (I get asked often!)Proud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

See, if you'd listen to my advice you would have spelled "you'll" correctly.

GRUMPY? ME??? Far from it, I am retired and living the dream.
What have I got to be grumpy about? OK, my golf game is up and down like a Yo Yo, but that still beats working!
Three days of work at the golf course and 4-5 rounds of golf per week.
Man it doesn't get any better than this
Big Mac is not grumpy, he is also living the dream! My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Welcome
The Old Man is from the "Frew" from what I know...(spidy senses). Best course in the valley!
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing, ... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Thaks and by the way the Old Man is a name my teo sons friends gave me years ago. They were calling me Mr ..... which bugged me and then one day one of them called me the Old Man and it stuck.I am actually in the mid to late fifties range.Mind is still young but on frosty mornings the body complains.
