Are belly putter shafts thicker than Reg putter shafts?
So, I got my first belly putter yesterday and was really surprised when i saw the thickness of the shaft on this thing. Now, I'm about to turn an other putter I have into a belly putter BUT its just a regular 35in putter. I was told I could ad a part of another shaft into the putter shaft, then put the grip over that for the extra 10in. Is there a reason belly putter shafts are so thick? Is there a reason I shouldn't turn a normal putter into a belly putter?

I think it is the grip not the shaft. Belly putter shafts have a butt size of .625

that is so wierd, the shafts on this belly putter looks so much thicker than the shaft on my other putter. Maybe the grip is playing tricks with my eyes ??
