    Wedge lofts

Hey guys. Just wondering if someone could tell me the benefits of having a 52 and 56 degree wedge along with my 60 and pitching versus just having a 54 with my 60 and pitching. Is there really a big difference? Or is it all down to preference?

I've pretty much dropped the 56 and just using the 52 and 60*. I find it so easy to get out of sand with the 60 that the 56 has become virtually useless. Could go with a 54* but I am comfortable with just choking down on the 52* for the in-between shots.. plus it is a better match to my PW than a 54* would be...

it depends on where you want to fill the gaps. If your PW is 46 deg and your SW is 54 then you have a big gap - 8 deg (and potentially 40-50 yds) between the two. I play a 46, 51, 56 and 60 deg wedge set.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

    It's all about preference.

My 56 is my 100 yard full swing club in addition to my high bounce sand club so I couldn't do without it.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

there you go. I hit my 51 deg gap wedge 100 yds. I'm lucky to hit my 56 80 yds.

    I use a 53* and a 57*

The 57* does everything my 60* did and is better out of the sand than the 60*.

The 53* is a great gap wedge and also can be opened in the sand.

Both are great from tight lies!

Truly the best combo I have had!

    I carry a RAC Satin 52-08 and a Vokey SM 56-10

I use the 52 from 110-75 yards and the 56 from 100 yards down, depending on the wind, and type of shot I want to try to pull off.

In the past I have carried a 60* wedge, but I found I just do not use it enough to warrant dropping another club from my bag in order to carry it.

Something had to go, so it was the 60* traded towards the Spin Mill. I do not miss that 60 at all.

One important thing you must know before buying wedges. The loft of your PW. Also, the type of turf you play on, the type of sand you play out of determines the bounce you might like to have.

Hey I saw an 80* wedge the other day! Must go straight up and straight down!
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Hey guys. Thanks for all your help. I decided to go with the 52 and 56 as they felt better to me then any of the other lofts. Appreciate all the help.
