    What is the ruling for this?



    Last Sunday while playing at Cloverdale. I had my ball marked on the green with a loonie. I stepped away from it almost 7 - 8 yards watching the other player putt his ball so I won't be on his view . when I returned to make my putt, the marker was not there anymore. scratching my head, I asked "what happened to my marker?". My other fellow player said "Oh was that your marker? I thought I snatched a loonie". He placed the loonie where he thought it was.
    What is the ruling for this?

    It was OK with me, I just wanted to know if there is a ruling for that. I was on a mental blockade for 12 holes anyway.

    Replace the ball-marker at the estimated spot. No penalty to anyone.

    Maybe you should consider marking with an old penny.
