Tiger Woods to miss first of four playoff events in FedEx Cup
(AP) - The PGA Tour has touted its new FedEx Cup competition by making references to the Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees. But when golf's version of the playoffs begin new week in New York, it won't include Tiger Woods.

This is too bad for the tour.. The fedex cup in its first year sure could use Tigers star power.. But after back to back wins I bet hes pretty tired..

I never thought he'd play Westchester, there's too much packed into the schedule from the British Open on. I wouldn't be shocked in the future to see players take a powder on the President's Cup as well. Having Jack captain the US team is probably all that is keeping Mickelson and Woods there.
