    Extending a putter 10 inches

I spoke to a few club builders and they told me it was possible to extent a putter 10 inches to turn it into a belly putter. I've always wanted to try one. I bought John's Futura Mallet and am planning to have someone take the grip off, add 10 inches, put a 1pc 21inch grip back on it. I know a lot of care goes into the weighting of a scoty so my question is how much weight should I add to the head of this club to still give it the feel it was supposed to have? I had a different putter that was 45 inches and when I cut it down to 35 inches it felt very heavy, just as heavy as those new heavy putters. I enjoy the feel of a heavy putter now. I'm worried that going for a normal 35in putter and turning it into a 45in putter will make it feel extremely light... if shotrening made if feel much lighter. I hope I am making sense

Also, is it easy to add weight to a putter? Should I not even try to do this with such a nice putter? I can try it with a crappy putter first

Since the putter was originally designed as a non-belly putter it's hard to say how much you'd need to add.

My best suggestion is to see if you can find the head weight specs of some belly putters and try to get the Futura to match that.

It's easy enough to add lead tape to a putter. For "normal" putters I usually put it on the sole so it's out of sight. With a Futura you could add it pretty much anywhere. It's not like it's going to make it any uglier.
Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

I believe that John's putter had the custom added weight in the bottom. I have that in mine as well and if John is missing the weight "plugs" send me a PM. I don't use the extra plugs in my phantom and if they fit yours you can have them

You can also take the plate off and glue quarters in there to add extra weight. Looks like 370g was the number.

I think on my plug there are five holes and three are filled so you could put two more weights in there.
