    Talking Wedges Review

Like some other websites making reviews of golf clubs, I am interested to know which wedge(s) you consider are the best on the market. Finally, companies like Callaway and Ping released wedges that have a traditional look (like Cleveland and Titleist Vokey, i.e. looks like forged wedge with no cavity back or not oversize). However, I know that some people would do everything to own a Ping Eye 2 Wedge (Beryllium). I personally hate the look of this wedge and I never got used to it.

I had several wedges (Titleist Vokey, Cobra Trusty Rusty, Cleveland RTG and BeCu, Snake Eyes and Yonex PM) and last year I bought a Cleveland 588 GunMetal 51* and it is probably now the best club in my bag. I am so confident with this club that I have decided to buy a 56*.

Now that we know how many wedges you carry (other thread), it would be interesting to know which one you really prefer.

    Pure Spin

The wedge I prefer is a my 52* Pure Spin gap wedge. I use it for chipping and for 80-100 yard shots. I'm surprised you do not have Pure Spin as an option - their diamond-face wedges are well-known and quite popular.

    Question Which Wedge?

    Tough Question?

My wedges are part of my EV0 845 set. The irons are cavity back but all the wedges (4) are solid. I have learned to use these and I'm not sure if something else may work better. I don't hit a shot with much spin, but I've hit a lot of good shots with them.

I'm not one to jump to a new club when I hit a bad shot. I manage to keep my Hcp in the single digits. I believe it is a matter of confidence much like a putter. When your concentration is good, you are likely to make a good shot.

Why do you have Cobra and Titleist together?

I assume its just cause they are both the same company, although they do make completely different wedges.

    Wedges

I used to have Vokey and switched this year to Merit zero bounce on the 52* and 60* and it fits my golf swing perfectly as of now (tried them out a couple of times).

I scored one at Chuck's about 1-2 weeks ago. Can't wait to try it on real turf! If I fall in love with it, wich will probably happen, I'll seriously consider switching from my trusty rusty 55* for a 588 56*.

I agree El Tigre, I loved my PS 52° wedge and my 56°. They were awesome. The only problem was that the face was flaking. I bought mine at "Loblaws" beleive it or not for dirt cheap. GT also had them on sale, I think $70.00 for all 3.

I have 588's (Gunmetal) in 51(GW), 56(SW) and 60(LW). Excellent wedges. Even though Cleveland has come out with the CG11's and CG12's, 588's are still very popular.

Bought a Callaway Forged + 60* last year. Loved it so much, I recently added a 54* to replace the 55* SW from my Taylormade 200 irons.

OK, Fortune Brands owns Acushnet, which in turn owns/produces Titleist and Cobra. No biggie.

Cleveland always comes out on top, they're the gold standard. Golf Magazine 2006 club test, and I assume every year before that too.

I was looking at replacing my wedges this year. I have the LCG PW and SW that match my old irons(695CB's on order). I played three times this year so far, and the best part of my game has been my SW from 100 yards and in, so I think I'll hold off on those Clevelands for a while.

Picked up a 200 series Vokey(60 degree - 12 bounce) and a 400 series Vokey(56 degree- 14 bounce) from Nomad Golf WRX, sweet wedges.

I bought two new TaylorMade Rac Black TP wedges this year and i couldn't love them anymore. Feel, spin and looks are all perfect and they aren't bad with chewing up balls. Get em and i promise you will love them.

And Fortune of course, is owned by the Masons. Ever looked really close at the Titleist logo? Seriously, take a look... I hear that this is what Dan Brown is basing his sequel on...

    Not.
