    RE: Swingweight

In basic terms, swingweight is about a club's balance and the way it feels in your hands.

A club with a swingweight in the lower range (C-0) will feel a lot lighter than a club in the higher range (D-9, E-0) even though the clubs may have the same overall weight, thats because the balance point in the lower swingweight club is closer to your hands.

    Try this experiment:

Take a hammer, a couple of nails and a scrap piece fo wood. Hold the hammer about half way up the shaft and try to drive the nail into the wood. Now, move your hand to the end of the hammer grip and drive in the second nail. The hammer feels heavier now because you've changed the swingweight evn though the weight of the hammer is the same, so it should be much easier to hammer the nail in.

As far as changing the swingweight on your clubs, the easiest way to do it is to add lead tape to the clubhead. A general rule of thumb is 2 grams of lead tape is equal to 1 swingweight point (eg. D-2 to D-3). Hope this helps.
