    getting into tournaments??

    i've been playing for a couple years now and would like to enter my first tournament and get some competitive golf under my belt. I don't have a registered handicap as i am not a member anywhere. are there tournaments where you can just show up and pay your dues? and where its not based on net (or gross, which one is it where they include your handicap?) scores? i'm in kingston if anyone as some suggestions (and i know you guys will).
