Best Course for the Money
Some of the following I've played... some I have not. Straight out for the money which course is best?
Stonebridge
Eagle Creek
Outaouais
Le Sorcier
Loch March
Marshes
other honourable mentions....Rob

What time of day/week are you asking about. There are various deals/specials that can change the answer.

I was thinking straight up green fees for what you get?
But what are some of the good deals?Rob

That's the problem.
Take SB for example. Depending on what time of day/week you play it is either $70, $55, or $40. There are also deals if you buy a passbook.
Loch March is $65 no matter when you play unless you buy the passbook.
If you are restricted to weekend play and don't buy passes, LM is a better value. If you can play weekdays, SB becomes a better value. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

Best Deal out there........... Renfrew Golf Club $1000 year membership or $40 greenfees. No question here.

For my money, its worth the drive to Hawkesbury Golf & Curling, $50 after 12 with a cart. The conditions and natural surroudings blow 99% of the courses in Ottawa away.I played there with Reid on Monday, and was reminded how incredible an old natural golf course can be. My top 5:
Hawkesbury G&C
Stonebridge
Mountain Creek
Cloverdale Links
Le SourcierSlice, hook, or straight down the middle. It all looks the same on the score card.

I don't think anyone checked my results---tallied up last night and Renfrew came in 1st---three times more votes than the closest rival.

Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

It depends on your criteria. Renfrew would be an additional 160KM round trip for me over the courses I usually play.
That's a pretty steep investment in both time and gas money if I were to play it on a regular basis. Not fat anymore. Need to get better at golf now!

The "best" will be different for everyone. I prefer to spend my money on green fees than gas and vehicle wear and tear, and spend my time golfing rather than driving.
I had never heard of Hawkesbury G&C and it looks like it should be a nice course to play, but it is a 280km round trip from Stittsville. Maybe next time I am headed to/from Montreal I will stop in.

Love the Outaouais at all times however, Monday and Fridays are 40 smackers. Usually tournaments on those days but you can shotgun it before the afternoon tournies start (8am I think). Just a lovely course, great staff, great practice/warm up facilities, great food and there's nothing like sitting on the balcony with a brewskie watching golfers of all stripes it up on 9 West!

Ya Hammond is in really good shape this year and it offers 1:00 twilight for $20. (you can't even play the 9 hole in orleans for that) Bearbrooke which is close by and is not even close to the condition of Hammond charges $25 for twilight.
Hammond is a good value.

Played Hammond today---unbelievable shape for end of July---worth every cent you pay What I dont understand is why courses that charge considerably more are in such poor shape---I am not going to mention names but you all know which ones they are. Even walking Hammond in 28 degree heat is literaly a "walk in the park"
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Hammond
Isn't the greens at Hammond crazy slow?!? Not a bad course, but the greens must be one of the slowest around!

Yep--they are slow--could be cut a little shorter to speed them up---but then they would be burnt--wait till the end of Aug and ask that question then.
