September Fun Day Poll
Ok folks, we now have 2 options for location and dates for the September forum fun day. I am going to leave this Poll open for 2 weeks or until 40 people have signed on for one of the options, which ever comes first.
Both Eagle Creek and Outaouais gave us quite a number of choices but I am going to only give a few so they can be compared apple to apple. I don't know how good the Eagle Creek deal it but it definitely looks good. The Outaouais deal is pretty damned good as well.
Eagle Creek offered us the following for September 22nd (all prices are BEFORE taxes)
1. Golf $70 (no charge for Club Link members)
2. Golf & Cart $88
3. Golf and Buffet (no cart) $106
4. Golf, Cart and Roast Beef Buffet $124
Outaouais offered us the following for September 15th (all prices are BEFORE taxes)
1. Golf $42.45
2. Golf & Cart $60.95
3. Golf and Buffet ( no cart) $69.95
4. Golf, Cart and Roast Beef Buffet $88.45
As son as we have 40 players signed up for one or the other, we will call that club and get the final details and maybe even a better deal if we are between 40 and 60 people. You may bring your friends along even if they are not forum members.

For clublink members, in case you didn't figure it out yet or you aren't good with math, all prices are $70 less than what's posted...

EC all the way, I would probably walk (so option 3) unless everybody rides.

I voted for EC golf only, but I'm good with either course. Both are fabulous. I'll be inviting a couple of friends out as well once the final date is set, so should be good for at least a foursome.
The buffet prices look great as well. Both Outaouais and EC offer great views from their respective patios so the dining option is definitely appealing

The food manager at EC is very good. I think the buffet would be very enjoyable (depending on what they were offering) Can you post a menu?

Which course better suits a 50 yard 'fade' by a lefty???

I have heard that the guy at EC is very good. The Chef at Outaouais is also exceptional. I didn't post the menu because they are similar (both excellent values) and the buffet contains just too much to list. Once we have selected a course based on that, I will post the full menu, start times and full costs including taxes. Final costs will depend on how many people we have and if everyone wants the full experience or just golf.

Kinda looks like with all the Club Link folks voting, its gonna be Eagle Creek by a mile which I don't think anyone has a problem with. They are both excellent choices.
I think I will let the poll go for another day or 2 and then either book it and start the registration or post another quick poll about golf only or golf and meal. (If it isn't already real obvious by the choices).
I kinda screwed up on allowing people more than one choice I guess but hey, I am a volunteer so sue me Besides, Bugsy has already scolded me for doing it that wayProud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

I'm not sure EC has a cart...
They have the half-way house that you seem to pass every second or third hole.It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Can't make the 22nd at all. Might and I say Might be good for Outaouais. I'm participating (almost mandatory) in our Mayors tourney the week of the 22nd. 2 days off just can't be fitted in my schedule in the 1 week.
Bad days golf, better then a good days work!

I will not likely make it for either day. However not to rain on anyones parade, but the last Fun Day some people seemed to shy away because of the cost. Now this one seems more expensive yet people are saying this is ok.
As I said, I am unlikely to make it up as by that time of year I will be working the opening shift at the course so I will need to be home Sunday.
It should be a good time though! I hope you get your 40-60 members to sign up.My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Sorry Bob, I was not trying to stir the pot or open up your old wounds. That was not my intentions at all with my post. That is not how I operate. As I said it makes no difference to me what the cost is as I will not be attending. On top of the costs for golf I have another $500 for travel etc. Just too costly for me for one round of golf. In the future I will take a week of vacation and come to Ottawa, then we can play golf! You are buying the beer after the roundMy opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Relax Rick, I was joking... Hell, I will spring for the good stuff, a litre jug of Baby Duck !!! Nothing but the best for my buddies
I'd rather pay 100-120$ for a round of golf and food at Eagle Creek than 50-70 at Casselview. I could be the minority, but I hope not.
Good on you and Bugsy getting this set up!
