Tell her to be prepared for what are quite likely the fastest greens in the area...

Very tough course, but it's a lot of fun to play it... tight fairways, thick rough, relatively small, slick greens. A few ravines bisect some of the fairways, forcing you to play smart. I have a friend who is a member who is nice enough to invite me out a couple of times a year - I always look forward to it.

    Don't wear cargo shorts
Tell her to dress as if preparing for dinner with The Queen.

LOL! Hey, I was a standard bearer at the DuMaurier in 2000 as well.... I'm sure she knows the rules having been there

In terms of how to play there, my biggest tips would be:

    (1) Stay out of the rough - it can be very thick and nasty.
    (2) Keep the ball below the hole - most greens are elevated and almost all of them slope from back to front. Those things combined with a fast putting surface make two putts from above the hole very difficult. Watch out especially for severe back to front slopes on #3, #11, #12, and #18. No matter what you do on those holes, don't be over the green on your approach shots.
    (3) Due to the elevated greens, be prepared to take an extra club over the distance on many approach shots - especially on #18.

I am playing there later in August and it would be great to hear how she found the course and any other details she may want to share.
