golf getaway weekend & a weekday

Try Hawkesbury. Two courses, Cite and Hawkesbury G&C (semi-private - have to play on a weekday), stay at Stephanie's, ask for room with jaccui tub. Great food at restaurant, or you can do Cite @ Hawkesbury and try Lachute, they have two course.

Full points to anyone giving a plug to any destination, but...


Considering the surplus of other, more er... ahem..cough...noteworthy destinations within a reasonable drive of the capital, I just can't imagine going to Hawesbury for a golf getaway.

Then again, that might just be a reflection of my ignorance rather than a comment of the relative merits of Hawkesbury golf and related amenities.

I've played at LaChute before, and it was nice (akin to Prescott Club), but you're right: I drove out because a friend lived beyond. We also played Montibello, which was WELL worth the trip.

That said, bad shameless plug person, bad!

C'mon down to Hawkesbury and we'll play a round at La Cite. Then we can go for supper at Stephanie's. Then you can decide which it is for yourself.
