    Cleaning up ferrules

I'm having a difficult time getting the shine back on the ferrule. I'm using the cloth belt sander and finding that it just leaves the ferrule really roughed up. I've been using 120 grit fine sanding paper to smooth things out. When I apply the acetone, I'm left with a very matte finish. Anyone have any suggestions or another sure fired way?

Instead of rotating the club clockwise on the cloth belt, turn the ferrule
in the opposite direction. You will be amazed in the difference it makes.
The ferrule will now be smooth rather than rough. You were turning the
ferrule in the wrong direction. If it works just send me $5 in the mail [lol].
    Kind regards, Harry

You may want to take wipe some acetone on them. That will bring back the shine.

Take a normal handkerchief and put some acetone or even thinners on it. Grip the ferrule with head up, between the thumb and fore finger and flick it round in you hand (spin the dead) about 10 times. The trick is to remove the hand and cloth when spinning and the shine will be there. I also use this methid to thin down burrs and raised edges. I can never get the same results on a turner or belt machine, I keep getting flat points. Try it, you will never go back to the machines.
