    Looking for real estate agent

hey guys, I'm fairly new to the city and think its time i stop burdening my family by staying with them any longer. I'm in the market for a home but have had some really bad dealings with some agents. Has anyone recently bought a house from an agent who really knew what they were doing and weren't just trying to get you into anything so they could get paid?

I'm looking to stay in Kanata area if that helps

    thanks

My buddy Jeff Miller works for Remax, and loves his job. He doesn't hold any punches, he tells it like it is (not in a rude way of course) and will help you instead of hurt you. He does his homework too, so he'll know where to look depending on what you're looking for (bus, schools, whatever). If you're interested, I'll get you his digits. He works primarily in the east end, but has sold in the West.

    I have 2 suggestions:

John King at Faulkner Real Estate

absolutely no pressure guy, super nice, worked with him for over a year and never once felt like we were putting him out going to see a lot of houses.

the 2nd is Paul Vani - mostly south end but great to deal with - works his butt off and sold our house in 3 days.

I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

I worked with Ken Sharland from Coldwell Banker on both the sale of my previous home and the purchase of my existing home.

Ken is a fantastic realitor who has won numerous awards in the Real Estate business. He also specializes in Kanata properties.

We just used Rebecca Keen from Remax, really nice Knows the area, Kanata, My wife loved here not exactly hard on the eyes! She must have showed us over 20 homes before we bought and never got frustered with us. She was awsome!

When we bought, we went without an agent and it worked out well. You have to be prepared to do a ton of research, but it's an extra bit of leverage when the seller's agent is looking at a fat double commission.

*edit* Also leaves you free to look at private sales without worrying about absorbing the buyers commission.
