Proper launch angle for a 7iron

I was at golf town demoing some of their irons. Does anyone know what the proper launch angle for a 7iron should be?

I have no idea but you should try out the Cobra Carbon CB's. I'd say they are one of the nicest cast clubs out there right now...ESPECIALLY for the price.

No idea either but don't forget that irons will have very different launch requirements compared to woods because they are supposed to spin the ball which will have a very big effect on the trajectory.

Not to mention, not each 7-iron is going to have the exact same loft.

So, how does one determine from hitting in the simulator what the right set of irons for you are (if shafts were all the same flex).

I'm not sure really. I don't usually decide which iron set is for me by seeing launch numbers in a simulator.

The way I do it is what fits my eye, then I'll hit them in the simulator to see how they feel. I'm not sure the numbers would give you a "fit" so to speak or w deciding factor on which ones to buy.

Personally, I don't think you can.

It's possible with drivers because the two biggest factors, ball speed and launch angle, have a pretty strong correlation to real world results.

For irons spin will play a much greater role in the overall trajectory so you really need to hit them outside.

You should also consider what loft the various 7-irons are that you hit, as they need to be the same to make any comparison. After all, many customers will buy the 7-iron they hit the furthest. In case you don't know, TM have simply put a 7 on the bottom of a 6-iron (a 30 deg 7-iron).
