Big straw hat for hot summer days. Don't really like being called Tom Kite, but it beats skin cancer...

Depending on the weather and/or state of the "bed head" I'll wear a baseball cap or GoreTex bucket hat.
If the weather co-operates and the hair is OK, no hat for me.

I have 3 or v visors I rotate between, 3 Callaway ones and a Nike one.
Lots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

This is a complex question. The visor is nice when my hair is huge and afro-like...it keeps me nice and cool while still protecting the face (the hair protects the rest of the head). But, sometimes when the hair is really afro-like, it just envelops the visor and looks really stupid, so i go hatless. When the hair is short, I'm definitely a hat guy. The fact that by black hat is now light brown, and my blue hat is a pale orange, is testament to the fact that the sun is not something to mess with.

Hats, Titleist Brand most of the time. New Cobra hat this year, along with 6 new Titleist hats into the rotation. One or two more Cobra hats to be purchased.
I might try a visor this year, but I sometimes think I look like a geek when I try one on
Last summer I bought a Dockers Bucket hat because the skin on the top of my ears were disappearing at a rapid rate Washed it, it shrunk, kind of tight now. The boys were calling me Kirk Tripplet when I wore that bucket!
Sometimes I go without a hat for a few holes but usually that happens after I have shaved my melon bald, I like to get some sun on it.
I likely have 50 hats around here, some or beyond being worn in public. A man can never have too many hats in my opinion. My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

I have about 4 Titleist hats that I rotate between and a couple of Titleist visors too. I like to switch it up. I prefer the fitted hats over the ones with straps in the back too.

baseball cap. Usually a TaylorMade one.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Only visor covers my wide face ... I need to find bucket hats with long enough brim to cover the back of my neck. Anyone selling Dave Pelz's style hats, let me know.

Callaway Tour Lo hat here, as they are one of the few brands that fit my fat melon.
I am considering a visor for this year though.

Baseball cap. For some reason things go downhill otherwise.

Baseball cap. Can't wear a visor - not enough hair up there anymore.
About once a season I'll forget a hat or will go walking around downtown or something... and I feel it every time I brush my hair for a week.

As Charlie Browns younger sister used to always say " I have natural curly hair" add I hate hat head and wala,....never a hat except for when I played out there last year. I bought a nice hat with a ball marker attached for memories.

Hat.
Used to enjoy NOT wearing a hat because with a bald head, a little sweat and a nice breeze, the cooling effect was quite pleasant. However, after getting a chunk of skin cancer cut from my nose and having pre-cancerous spots burned off my scalp every six months, I ALWAYS cover up. While most of the damage now being treated occurred years ago, I wish now that I had covered up in the past, and always used a sun block.
Golf tip: Cover up and lather yourself with a doctor recommended block.

After coming back from Australia and seeing all the skin cancer there...yikes! I started wearing a PING bucket hat last year but if it gets too windy, I switch to a ball cap.

Mostly, I wear a visor cuz I hate hat head, but on those days when it's coolish a ballcap will do.

Ball cap for very overcast or windy days, otherwise a full brim straw. Starting to see early signs of skin damage on nose and ears so trying to ward of the big "C" for as long as I can. ALSO wearing SPF 30 on the face, and will try to use sun glasses, as the rays will eat your eyes too. Since I wear glasses, the clip on sun glasses make them heavy and they slide down my well greased nose. Tried the sun glasses only route but I don't need any more handicaps...

Tilley for me
I almost always wear a Tilley full brimmed hat. It is a little warmer, but keeps the sun off in all directions. Since it is white on the outside, it does reflect most of the rays. The brim is really useful as the sun sinks lower, by keeping it out of my eyes for a lot longer. In addition, if it is raining, it protects my glasses as well. I also have a straw hat, but almost never wear it unless it is really hot.
Cheers,
Tim
