Exceptional Driver Championship - Ottawa
Exceptional Driver Championship ™
The Exceptional Driver Championship introduces an exciting dimension to power golf competition: accurate distance.
The format places a premium on peppering the championship grid. Players have five drives with which to amass points, and the highest total score wins. That makes every tee shot during the set a critical one.
Unlike the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, which is open to all, the EDC is restricted to amateur golfers only.
Winners of qualifying events advance directly to the EDC finals, slated for May 5th - 11th, 2008 at the magnificent Laughlin Ranch Golf Club in Laughlin, Nevada.
There the top prize is $100,000. The EDC champion will have to decide whether to accept the bounty or retain amateur status.
Qualifying begins in the spring and runs throughout the summer and early fall. Men and women, juniors and seniors, every amateur golfer has the opportunity to experience the thrill of trying to find the grid with five consecutive drives and earning a bonus sixth ball.
Entry fees are $25. Golfers with reliable, repeating swings will enjoy the challenge of filling up the grid and posting the highest possible score. With each paid try you will receive a two pak of Pinnacle Exceptional golf balls and a cap.
