    Oaks of Cobden

Finally got out and played this course and i must say it is a gem of a track. Awesome layout, nice and quiet and got 18 in in 3:30. It was wet after the downpour and played pretty darn long from the blues. All in all a great experience and i would make the trek out there again anytime!

    How'd you do on #11?

I love that golf course and wish I could get people to play it with me... they think it's so far away and yet Renfrew or Calabogie are "acceptable". As far as I'm concerned they're all the same drive time away from Ottawa.

The contrasting 9's make it a fun challenge. Glad to hear you liked it!

Yeah it took us exactly one hour from Ottawa.

Yep, a nice liesurly drive to play three of the nicest courses around-I hear Mississippi is nice too.
    Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

If you liked Oaks, try Whitetail in Eaganville. It's about the same distance and a real gem in the wilderness.

Played there June 1st, and the greens were VERY shaggy. Putting almost impossible to gauge. The rest of the course was in good shape, and I'm up there at another tournament on the 22nd, so we'll see if they are any better. I usually play there 3 times a year, and the greens have been perfect every other time, so I don't expect a repeat. Jeez, picky for a 23 handicap, aren't I?

I'm playing there this Sunday for the first time. Any hints you can give me on any holes?
