06-13-2007 07:13 PM #155fireice and I played our match today and he put up a good fight. The weather was fine and the company was great!
He ultimately fell 4&2 so it's on to round 2 for me.
Thanks fireice for a great day in the sun!
It was definitely a format I'll try again.
Thanks to Mike and Steve also, great company.

just so me and stick understand this correctly is course handicapp is 12.5 mine is 10.97, what does this mean as far as strokes, do you round up or down is it 1 stroke or will it be 2 strokes i give him, sorry for the confusion boys, but ask gbower i know nothing about golf rules.

you round down. if the difference is 1.5 then it is 1 stroke.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Not sure where you guys are playing your match, but there should be a sheet posted somewhere that will tell you what your handicaps translate to for that course.
Ex: When Sak and I played Whitetail on Wed, my index was 6.5, his was 10.2. On the sheet at Whitetail my index translated to a course handicap of 7, while Sak's translated to an 11. So I had to give him 4 strokes.
Once you get to the course ask to see the sheet. It will sort it out for you."A life lived in fear of the new and the untried is not a life lived to its fullest." M.Pare 10/09/08

and I'd like to revise my previous post...you can't have a decimal point for your course handicap, it will be a whole number. so there is no rounding required. it is simply the difference based on the calculator above (you need the slope for the course as input).

He sure does, he played with Jvincent and myself when we dug up the course and our games didn't seem to affect him at all.... hes got game for sure.... he was putting for birdie more times than I was putting for bogie (and that was a bunch!) Have fun guys, don't let the course eat you up !

bobblehead is opting out of the tourney - Anybody care to take his spot? Chris needs an opponent and I'll give anybody 48 hours to manifest interest. Otherwise, he moves on to the 2nd round.

The Ottawa golf day and Casselview was the setting for our match. We had Nat, Hacker, Wilster, and myself in our group.
I played well (despite shooting an 8 on the first hole), and Wilster was defeated 4 & 2.
Thanks for the game guys.

I was able to eke out a 2 and 1 victory over Habsfan. Hot day ,cold beer and some good golf by both of us. Thanks for the match Habsfan, it was alot of fun.
This is the last ball in the bag. This gets wet, we're disqualified.
