Thanks for pointing that out to me as I have been using this cleaning method for the past 10 years. I will not do this anymore to avoid any confusion for future matches. Is it ok to clean your ball by rubbing it in the rough or fairway?

My answer is "I don't know" - I never rub the ball on the grass to clean it - I use a towel or my hands.
