considering a new membership

This is my second year at Champlain but I'm starting to think about getting a membership somewhere a bit nicer.

Champlain's not a very popular course around these parts but I really like it, it's an old well grown course with some length on it and it's 5 minutes away from where I live. It's empty in the evenings, always open and I like the staff.

On the down side the ground can be hard and it's a little rough around the edges.

Right now I' thinking about

The Marshes (gold package if it's available)
Emerald links
Stonebridge

I like to be able to just "show up" in the evenings during the week for a quick 9 and on weekends to join up somewhere as a single.

Anyone willing to offer up some opinions on these fine establishments

Marshes Gold package is a very good deal and is probably closest to you but it is sold out for the year. Includes free range access and carts for every round with only minimal black-out times.

I was at SB for 3 years but now at EL. SB is good value but it is a golf season pass only, not a membership - NO member events, no intersectionals, no league play, no club storage, no personal locker, no handicap and no house account. Also no alternative if they are hosting a tournament which they have been doing more of lately.

EL is also good value - 3 nines with option to upgrade your membership to include the other "Gib Link" courses, Cloverdale and Anderson.

You might consider Metcalfe's Thursday evening Men's League. Good group of guy's and very well run.
