8th round of the season brings a new surprise!
So I just walked in the door from playing a local course here. It's 6506 yards and rated 71.8/133, so not the most difficult course in the world, but it's tight on a lot of holes.
I finished up with a 69, my best score to date. It was pretty tough playing at first because I was used to the glass-like greens in Arizona, and these were a bit shaggy still, but thankfully, my chipping was really good which led to a chip in eagle and about 6 others that I tapped in with one hand. I'm pretty pleased with my game to say the least. Hopefully it carries over to the rest of the year.
I played the Cobra X-Speed Pro D that I picked up and posted pictures of today too and an HX-Tour instead of the ProV1. I had my Bushnell out and the carts have GPS on them, so I was able to measure out my drives pretty accurately. My worst was 292 and my best was 318, and the course was wet because we had rain this morning. This thing is DEEEEEP. I know John said it felt like roadkill on the end of the stick for him, but if you haven't tried it, I'd recommend giving it a whirl. I mis-hit one 285 yards off the toe if that goes to say anything.

Then your worst was 285, not 292. ;-)
Oh yeah, nice round. Congrats.

All I can say is that if I were hitting the ball that far, my opponents would be well advised to check me or my equipment for signs of funny business. With the length that you are banging the ball, remind me to ask for strokes when you find your way to Ottawa. Nice round.

I'll be in Ottawa in the near future for sure. My sister is having a baby early June so I'm going to book a vacation to Ottawa this summer for sure. We'll get together and play some Nassau if you want. It's actually pretty tough when you play with a handicap gap. My buddy is a 25 so I have to give him a stroke a hole and some two. It's pretty tough to beat him.

Great round! I wouldn't change the combo of driver and balls for a while LOL. You might have fixed your problem!!! Might stop you from purchasing new equipment for at least a few weeks.

Thanks boys. I was pretty happy with my round with exception of putting. My bag is set except for a putter and perhaps the X-Speed fairway woods.
