Cheapest Parking?
I work in the market and my usual spot just increased their rate by ~300$/year (bad enough that I'm already paying in the neighbourhood of 1800$ annually).
Wondering where the cheapest daily fee places are in and around the market .. it's summer so I don't mind a 5-10 minute walk either (I work on York, near Dalhousie). I would be in ~ 8-9am every weekday (in case that affects early bird).
Also, does anyone know of a website or forum w/ this info on it? ...kinda like those gas price websites

My God Nat!!! you could buy a second car for that much---I pity you--do you realize that much parking could pay for 40 plus rounds of golf? I wish you luck
Does the 2nd hole-n-one come easier ?

Hey Nat,
Look behind you at some of the side streets. A lot of people rent out space, I had a spot on Murray in a guys yard for 50/month two years ago. Good luck.Lots of yoga pants these days, not enough Yoga!

Thanks for the info everyone !
Bus pass is definatley not an option for me though. I can't garuntee when I'm coming & going from work, and live far enough away that i'd have to use an express bus to get anywhere (i.e. staying late @ work = missing the bus). Also, I don't live near my home course, so taking a bus home and then driving out to the course would cost a good 45 mins of golf time!NCGT Ryder Cup Team Green (06,07,08)

Man upwards of 2000$ a year in parking is absolutely insanity. You can definitely find people renting out their spaces and you can also speak to private business in and around the market that have larger than average lots. Sometimes they will rent spaces out.

I'm pretty sure that was the rig that they tested on Mythbusters.
IIRC they were able to get Jamie off the ground, but it wasn't what I'd call "stable".

Canadian Tire usually has bikes on sale every week $2100 to park a car while yo go to work is highway robbery.
Like hospitals that now charge $5 to park in the Emergency Parking Area. "Hey Thanks for driving in after having a Heart Attack. Now make sure you pay for your parking"My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

2000$ to park is alot, but nothing compared to friends in T.O. that pay upwards of 450$-500$ a MONTH!

What you need to do is find someone in the same boat as you,and car pool and split the annual cost?
Or get a new job somewhere else?Dirty...Mean...And Mighty Unclean.

Hey Nat,
Have you tried craiglist-ottawa-hull, I found my parking spot on there. You can find a decent price every now and then.
I found underground parking on Metcalfe Street for $70.00 a month.
