    Scooter + Golf bag?

K, this may sound weird to anyone who hasn't been to the west coast and seen how many people drive around on scooters/mopeds. I am looking for a way of getting to/from work at 530 am that doesn't require me pedalling up 2 large hills. I am also looking for something that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg for insurance, repairs, gas, etc. Basically, though having a car would be nice, it will basically drain most of the money I am going to be making this summer. I am thinking of buying a scooter, but am con erned that it will be too awkward to carry a golf bag on. Does anybody have experience with this issue? Any advice is much apreciated. Thanks.

i used to drive a dirtbike. i wouldnt see any problem with a golf bag on your back on a scooter... just make sure you have the rain hood on nice and tight, or you may be picking up your clubs on the side of the road

Sort of. I can keep them at the course, in theory, but the maintenance area gets locked up in the middle of the afternoon, so I'd still have to deal with getting them home after the round. I may be able to work something out though.

Ya, that would definitely be an ugly sight. Good to hear though...and its not like scooters are speed demons, either, so I wouldn't have imagined it being a problem.

HAHA...true, but thankfully, I'm the only person I know who is insane enough to have picked a job that starts at 6 am.

Depending on the type of scooter (like one of those Hondas), you might even be able to stand the bag between your legs. Bonus is with that 'fro, no need for a helmet either.

Hey I know a guy who rides to the course on his "HOG" with his carry bag on his back So if he can do that on a Harley you can do that on a scooter Or buy a 3 wheeled cart and tow it behind the scooter Make sure you do not get that cart into a speed wobble or your clubs could bite the asphalt and that is not good for the finish on them
I have seen a lot of scooters being driven around this part of the country during last summer. With the price of gas rising it might well be the summer ride of the future.
My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

Get an Ebike. It's a simple thing you add to your bike and it goes up to like 30KM an hour. Use your bike and turn the motor on for the hills. It's like 400$ and runs on batteries that you can charge at work... If intersted lemme know I have a friend who has one and absoultelyloves it. Great cheap alternative.

    Scooter + Golf Bag

My brother lives in Bermuda and the main mode of transportation there is the scooter. He carrys his golf bag all the time and I have even done when visiting. Just have the rain hood and a dual strap and you are fine.

Bought a scooter last weekend. Have yet to try taking my golf bag on it, but don't anticipate it being a problem. I'm treating myself to a round at Cordova Bay on Monday, so I will know for sure by then.

    Clubs on a bike

Hey Jonf ;I have a motorcycle and carry a staff bag on the back seat all summer. Now mind you it's a goldwing and this has quite a bit more room than a scoot! I lay the bag across the seat and use a couple of bungie cords in order to secure it to the bike. Looks kinda funny on the Queensway at 65 miles an hour but I think everyone is looking at me drinking a Tims as I ride home from the course ...stereo playing the tunes and with the cruisec control set on "Don't get a ticket". Have fun in Vic with your scoot. Beautiful town and great people.

    All the best

    Vic
