Fair Weather Golfers
With the exception of a twosome and our threesome, I couldn't believe that no one else was playing at Manderley this morning. It was a perfectly good day for a round. While some of the fairways were wet, the greens were perfect and, best of all, it never rained. Surely the area golfers aren't afraid of a little moiture!!!

I got around Hammond in 3 hrs, caught up to a twosome in a cart on 16 other than them there were very few people on the course...
Felt good to be out even if it was a little damp.

Far too many are.
I love playing in the mist/light rain. It's usually very peaceful, all of the fair weather hackers are off the course, and the conditions are actually pretty good for scoring because of soft greens and lack of wind.
I would have been out today except that my weekend pass was already scheduled for tomorrow.

Hacker and I played Greensmere today, we had the front 9 to ourselves. On the back 9 we saw a few golfers.
Course is in great shape for this time of the year. Today was a beautiful day for golf, very quiet and peaceful.
I don't mind that most people don't like playing on days like this.

We teed off shortly after 8 AM this morning in a fine misty drizzle. This lasted for 5 holes then it slowly let up.
Fairways were SOAKED. We literally walked through casual water in many spots. Some of the greens had casual water on them as well.
However 18 holes later I cared a +6 and hit the road! Not bad considering there was no roll and the greens were as wet as they were. Let me say this though, the rough was BRUTAL!
I'll play in just about any weather, that is how I manage to get as many rounds in as I do. I do not like teeing off in a downpour, that one I will skip!My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

I'm sure we will play somewhere next weekend. If you want to join us let us know.
I'm surprised you guys let Richard canceling kill your whole outing.

Agreed on too many fairweather golfers. I played Meadows in a light drizzle. I like this weather I get to play golf the way I like playing golf.... No one in front of me!

Got out and played a beauty solo round at 8:00 Sat morning and it couldn't have been any better. Finished at 10:30 and it felt so nice to be out at Vieux Moulins basically just me and the course. Man i love golf.

I would have been out if I could. But weekends in work work work. Me too I prefer playing when few are on the course.

I was glad there weren't too many golfers at Stonebridge yesterday to see my terrible display of putting.

played Stonebridge this morning...teed off @ 8:20, 3:45 to finish, almost no one out there. light rain for the first 5 holes, then pretty much clear beyond that. my game was butt ugly for the first 5-6 holes but came around after that. all in all a pretty decent start the season. BTW, the course is in magnificent shape. The greens have been punched and are still a few weeks from filling in, but the fairways, etc. were top notch.
I got a fever. And the only prescription is more golf equipment.

Manderley was fantastic today. Never had anyone ahead of us or behind us, the only people we saw were on other 9s. Most of the fairways are dry and the greens are rolling great! once you cleared the worms out of your line.

Went to Calabogie yesterday morning. The couple my wife and I usually play with wimped out even though I swore the weather would be nice by our 9:30 tee-off.
The sky cleared as we walked up to the first tee - the course was empty - finished in 3:20 - walking.
Perfect day with my first pars and birdie of the year .

Wait a second here......I didn't cancel the game
The company on Sunday was great (as always) but there was certainly room for more. Too bad I've lived here for 7 years and only now found about about Greensmere - wonderful course that is only about 15 minutes away from the house
