Yes, as in many games they had plenty of other chances. I was just commenting on the "Home Ice Timekeeper Advantage" that you see in not only hockey but other sports ie. Basketball is an excellent example. You rarely see the error happen the other way......... I would bet you a "green fee" that if it was the Sens facing off in the Devils end that Timekeeper would have hit the switch exactly when the puck hit the ice......as he should.

The way I see it, everyone on the Sens team played a role in that goal.... lost the face off, someone was left uncovered and if Emery is in position, square to the shooter, there is no room for it to go in. Most of the Sens probably thought ahh what to hell 3 seconds, slim to no chance of scoring so why hustle to cover my player.... The clock starting 'late' is just sour grapes, it happens all the time.
The Sens deserved that game but Brodeur stole it for the Devils. Emery was no slouch either....
The Sens are in a good position going home. They showed character these past 2 games that they had not showed us in years gone by.Proud member of the 2009 OG/TGN Ryder Cup Champions

A really good timekeep can shave some time off the clock or save some time on the clock. Seen it done many many times in JR B hockey.
But like the Sharks, the Sens had their own fate in their hands. I did not expect a sweep of Detroit, so surely you Sens Fans did not expect to sweep Brodeur and the Devils. My opinions are my own, I do not follow others.

If Ottawa wins the faceoff, then this would be a moot point. I take more satisfaction out of the fact that Ottawa came back from a two goal deficit to the Devils to take it into overtime. Plus I have Sens in 6, so they will have to lose two games
It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Holy cow. That was too close for comfort.
For all those Alfredsson bashers, please take not eof his unselfish play by passing the puck to Spezza for the empty net goal.

Loved Fishers little drag of the skate on the first goal. Had to get Marty off his game some how.

Like the quick whistle on the Senator goal (no-goal) late in the first? Things like these tend to even out of a series. As far as I'm concerned the Sens got what they deserved in game 3, the win.

How bout that wicked announcing by Cole and Millen at the end. They didn't have ANY idea what was going on (and on the brodeur penalty for that matter). "And ottawa will be short handed with a faceoff in front of their net. No, wait...they're adding more time. Surely its still over now. No, wait, they're facing off at the other end. SURELY it's over now. No...wait...they're not short handed. It doesn't matter, it's over now." It was icing you jackasses!!!!! The icing happened before the trip, therefore, no penalty. Notice how the two linesman came rushing in with their right hands held high in the air? That's called ICING.
Anyway, great game for the sens, sweet goal from Fisher. Wanted to ask this. Does anybody know what they were changing right before alfie scored? I couldn't figure it out at first, but right before the goal I though I deciphered it: Were they chanting "Alfie, Alfie, Alfie"? BEcause if they were...and he scored that very second...well then that is just the cooles thing ever.

I liked the "and the sens win going away". One goal? Maybe he ment going away to NewJersey? Actually he probably has no idea what he ment.

I hate it every time Cole says "the Sens doing a fantastic job killing this penalty" when there is still 1:00 left on the penalty and the Devils are setting it up in the zone. Please "shhhhhhh"
Best was the report on Doan after the game, they showed an interview with Antoine Vermette and the caption read "Maxime Ouillet - Ottawa Senators!"

CBC is horrible, you would think that Jersey is a canadian team, Brodeur this Brodeur that, Jersey, Jersey. Brodeur was weak on every goal I thought, out of position for Alfredson's shot and asleep for Heatley's and late on Fisher's. He lost the game for them. It seems as thought the CBC jsut ar enot on board with promoting the canadian teams, weird. Now, if this was Toronto, a whole nother, level!!!!!
