Anybody tried one of these? Anybody tried the previous Detour? Looking at one Newport Detour 2.5 right now...

Talking to the stores, stock should be coming in end of ths month. I'm pretty sure that I'll pick up a 33/350, just can't decide on the neck style yet.

I thought the 2.5 is coming only in 34/340 or 35/330?

For general distribution yes, apparently by special order, you can get a 33/350 2.5. Just be prepared to wait for a while. I'll let ya know when mine is ordered and shows up. Probably November 22 or whenever the first snowfall comes this year.

Got mine (Newport Detour 2.5) last week and played with it last week-end. Although the alignment aid is a bit distracting because of its odd shape, it is not as distracting as the original Detour and it does actually really help with the alignement. It is an excellent putter. My alignement was really good but more importantly, my distance control was just amazing. I know feeling is all personal but this one feels really nice. Must be superb on fast greens. I also like the colours (Accident orange). I guess my future resto might take that route too...it's a keeper for me.

Sure Lance, no prob. We'll certainly have to get together to play a round...would be fun to play with the other Scotty fans of your area...kiwi-man and langille5...

On a side note, it's actually nice that I had this one in my bag because I was all over the place the entire week-end! I had to make a couple of 5-6 footer...to save doubles!!!!!!

Tried it and didn't like it. My buddy and I were both pushing the ball when we tried it out. I'm not sure if that might have something to do with the alignment aid on the back or what.
