Driving Range - hitting off grass
I had a problem with my iron play during my round on Saturday. I have chalked it up to hitting off the mats at the range.
Are any of the driving ranges allowing you to hit off the grass, yet?
Please let me know.Back at it.

Target is not as of Saturday this past weekend.
Mats only, and I put a ding in my 6 iron.

Falcon Ridge is open; it's in pretty rough shape, though.

FWIW, the 19th Tee was still mats only at lunch.

Your problem may not be simply because of hitting on mats. I had the same problem which in my view is mainly attributable to hitting off soggy or very soft turf. Your feet dig in and we have a tendency to hit more fat shots. I suggest to be patient, not change your swing and wait for the soil to dry out a few weeks. Otherwise you may lose the benefit of all the good practice you put in.
Just a thought and my two cents worth!!!! Bonne chance!!!Keep it vertical!!

I was at the 19th tee after work tonight around 6 PM and it was packed!
Mat and Grass you could not find a spot to hit. had to wait at one spot till someone actually runs out of balls.

19th tee on Saturday.
Hitting off the grass worked like a charm. Chunked everything for the first little bit. Realized that my weight wasn't shifting to my lead foot enough. BAM - solid contact returned and no more fat shots.Back at it.

Barrhaven Range Open?
Does anyone know if the range in Barrhaven is open? The one right near the Loblaws?

Thanks for the info. I find that strange as to why they would not open. I will try Stonebridge..it's quite close.

Cloverdale range is open. Very nice grass teeing area. Just have the yardage signs to aim at though.

The new Nevada Bob in Orleans (Orleans golf Academy) is opened and the grass area is in excellent shape.
