Course suggestions
I am heading to Montreal for the May long weekend with a bunch of guys, and, in order to break up the steady stream of ballet, would like some recommendations for reasonably-priced, reasonably-easy courses within a short drive of downtown (if such a thing exists). Which would you recommend? Thanks.

Golf Dorval comes to mind. Not sure if they will be 18 or 36 holes open then since they are apparently losing 18 holes to the airport at some point.
Atlantide is another option.
If you take easy off the requirements list, Ile de Montreal is nice.

In order of proximatry to the city center:
"Meadowbrooke" is pretty much in the city, inexpensive and easy (wide fairways) - but unfortunately due to lack of resources ($$) isn't of the highest quality - but it's in the city, a full course, cheap, not terrible.
"Challenger" an expensive links type course in Ville St. laurent
"Dorval" is nice too, but make sure u get the one on Revershon NOT Dorval municipal, which is a small course near the airport, also owned by Dorval city.
"Atlantide" in Iles Perrot - nice course - reasonable price (actually 2 separate nice courses - but I haven't played there)
"Harwood" in Hudson is nice, well kept and "very inexpensive". Only 9 holes, but u can play it from different tees.
"Falcon" in Hudson - nice course - a bit expensive, but you may be able to find deals
In Laval:
"Cardinal"
"UFO"
"Ste-Rose"
Personally I like Harwood. Maybe it's because it's the first course I played and the one I play the most. I find it quaint, WELL kept, every hole is different, inexpensive - but I've only been playing for 4 years - so what do I know - LOL.
Dorval is rated as a pretty good course and priced well, a little more $ than Harwood, but the difference in cost may be made up by the difference in gas used - LOL

On the South Shore, I suggest Candiac and Laprairie.

Thanks, everyone. That will give us lots of choice.

I love Ste. Rose, and I will continue to say it. It is a par 70, not too long, but some of the best conditions due to excellent irrigation. I played Vaudreuil last week and it was nice and dry. Meadowbrook is cheap and easy, but like a hooker, you can tell that she is cheap and easy by the way she dresses (i.e. not a nice area, clubhouse or anything for that matter). Enjoy your stay and best of luck.

My favourites are:
The Falcon
Atlantide
St-Raphael
Le CardinalZeemine
